Beginning Orchestra
The Beginning Orchestra consists of 3rd-5th grade. Students choose to play one of the following instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello or Double Bass. We use the Strictly Strings Book for this class. In this class students are taught how to take care of their instrument, hold the instrument, play their instrument correctly, how to read music, various musical terms and how to perform. Beginning Orchestra meets 2 to 3 times a week.
Intermediate Orchestra
The Intermediate Orchestra consists of students with more than one year of orchestra. The students in this class use Strictly Strings Book II. It is a more advanced book. The students in the class learn techniques such as vibrato, shifting, how to tune their own instrument and other wonderful and fun terms and techniques. The music in this class is also more challenging. Students are introduced to new styles of music and music history.
