Fine art studies are essential to a balanced curriculum.  Visual art classes are offered at Covenant beginning in 1st grade and continuing through 12th grade.  Students are instructed in a variety of art media, art vocabulary and art history in order to progressively teach the state and national standards in the visual arts while allowing time for fun with seasonal crafts.  Elementary art classes meet twice weekly.  Middle School Art classes meet five days a week for nine weeks then rotate with other specials including Spanish, P.E. and Technology.

The High School art department offers four years of intensive study in a variety of mediums.  Classes meet daily, earning students a full credit per year.  Students who concentrate in the arts the entire four years or four credits at the High School level will receive a fine arts cord at graduation and should leave Covenant with a portfolio suitable for an interview and college art scholarship consideration.  Covenant students have received four “Best of Show” awards at the ACSI Art Festival.
The High School Technology department also offers an opportunity for students to participate in a four year intensive study in visual arts through the Desktop Publishing classes.  Classes in Desktop Publishing meet daily, earning students a full credit per year.  Students who concentrate in the visual arts program in Desktop Publishing or a combination of the arts for the entire four years or four credits at the High School level will have their choice of receiving a fine arts or technology cord at graduation.  Covenant students who are involved in Desktop Publishing are responsible for creating "Visions", Covenant's yearbook, from concept to printing.  Students use Publisher and Photo Shop to achieve these goals.  The "Visions" staff at Covenant have received many awards over the last several years, most recently two consecutive "Best Cover" awards from ACSI.
